Fill the Bus

In 2012, the Social and Community Service Committee instituted a program called, “Fill-This-Bus with School Supplies” for the needy.  At the time, it was clear to us that many parents lacked funds to purchase new back-to-school supplies for their youngsters. Not wanting to sit idly by, SHSAA members stood up and met the challenge to assist these children and their parents. The first year, we disseminated nearly 230 backpacks to needy students in grades K-12.  Each year thereafter, we have distributed over 250 backpacks stuffed with grade-specific school supplies. This year, by the grace of God, and with your help, we expect to do more.
